The television series itself is a musical drama with musical nuance. This drama tells the story of love, ups and downs, and the journey of reaching dreams in the music world. TvN presents this drama in a youthful approach, it can be seen from the supporting actors who are still fairly young, and coupled with the school atmosphere that adds freshness to the story.

Plot of The Story

The Liar and His Lover is centered around Yoon So-Rim (Joy), a young girl who is passionate and lives with her grandmother. So-Rim is a girl who loves to sing and has a dream to stand on the big stage as a professional singer. But lately she felt there was always misfortune happen when she sings. Until one day she met a man and felt in love at first sight of him.

The man is Kang Han-Gyeol (Lee Hyun-Woo), a young genius music producer. He and his schoolmates used to form a band called Crude Play, but then he decided to stay behind the scenes and get out of Crude Play to become their music producer, known as the mysterious Producer K. To this day Han-Gyeol lives by hiding his identity.

Our Temp Opinion

I came to take a peek of this drama because one time my fiance ask me to watch the movie which is in Japanese, well at first I was reluctant to keep on watching but the story is waaay over my expectation. Long story short, I found this drama and I gave it a shot. Due the knowledge of the story I am enjoying this series more than the movie, it is still good to be honest but the problem solving in drama is superficial contrast to the one on the movie. It’s a good television series and worth your time, one suggestion from me, Don’t watch the movie before finishing the series  !
